RIP Patrick Byrne
Yesterday The Coogee Dolphins lost one of our finest. Today our thoughts and prayers go out to the Byrne family, especially Pat's two boys who were the most important people in his world.
Knowing Patrick for close to 20 years now, he was one of the most honest ,loyal and generous people I have ever met. Pat always treated me like a brother and we will forever have that bond.
From playing beside him, to agonising beside him, to celebrating beside him, I have a lifetime of memories I will cherish. His boisterous voice and laugh could light up a room and his charm was infectious.
His love of our club was unwavering from player, to the inaugural premiership president, to sponsor.
What Pat endured, no man should have too. The courage and bravery he showed for his mates and strangers alike is inconceivable. Personally, what Pat did for my brother I will be eternally grateful.
I will always be proud to call you my brother and I wish we had more time together.
From The Coogee Dolphins , myself and my family. You will be missed.
May you rest in peace Patty and may the boys greet you at the gates of heaven, god knows you deserve it.
The Coogee Dolphins would like to invite family and friends
of Patrick Byrne to say their goodbyes and celebrate his life at St Marys church Nth Sydney.264 Miller St Nth Sydney on Wednesday at 11am. Details of the wake will follow.
